Vice Chancellor, Crawford University

Professor Solomon Olanrewaju Makinde is an accomplished scholar, distinguished administrator, and passionate advocate of literacy and language education. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Crawford University, Faith City, Igbesa, Ogun State, bringing with him decades of academic excellence, administrative experience, and commitment to educational development in Nigeria and beyond.

Prof. Makinde previously taught in the Department of Language, Arts and Social Science Education, Faculty of Education, Lagos State University (LASU), where he made remarkable contributions to teaching, research, and leadership. He was the Pioneer Assistant Director of LASU’s Badagry Campus (2006–2010), and later served as Head of Department of Language, Arts and Social Science Education as well as Faculty Representative on the Postgraduate Board. He also chaired the Quality Control Committee of the Postgraduate School and served as Chairman, Curriculum Committee of Senate at LASU.

An erudite researcher and prolific writer, Prof. Makinde has over seventy publications in local and international learned journals. His research interests span Yoruba (Mother-Tongue) Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Language Policy, Literacy, Literature, and Culture.

He is widely recognized for his contributions to literacy and language education. He has been a member of the Reading Association of Nigeria (RAN) since 2007, serving as National Secretary (2014–2016), Lagos State Chairman, and National Vice President. SolomonInternationally, he is a prominent member of the International Literacy Association (ILA) and the African Language Teachers Association (ALTA), USA.

He is also the Vice President of the International Association of Language Educators, the South-Western Coordinator of the Association for Promoting Nigerian Languages and Culture (APNILAC), and an active member of Egbe Akomolede Yoruba, Nigeria and the Yoruba Studies Association of Nigeria.

Prof. Makinde has represented Nigeria and Africa on global platforms, presenting scholarly papers at high-profile conferences in major Nigerian cities and across countries such as the United States, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Beyond academia, he has provided consultancy services as a Reading Advisor to USAID/Creative Associates International Inc., where he contributed to the development of Yoruba Early Grade Reading and Writing Materials through international workshops and collaborations.

He also serves in faith-based leadership roles as Regional General Secretary, Association of Visiting Secretaries, Faith City Regional Services of Apostolic Faith Church, and as Chaplain of Crawford University.

Professor Isaac Adegbenga Aladegbola

Deputy Vice Chancellor, Crawford University

Prof. Isaac Adegbenga Aladegbola, a distinguished academic and administrator, assumed the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Crawford University in December 2023. His appointment was approved by the University Board of Trustees and Governing Council, recognising his exceptional qualifications and contributions to the institution.

With his wealth of knowledge, administrative acumen, and commitment to academic excellence, Prof. Isaac Adegbenga Aladegbola is poised to continue making invaluable contributions to Crawford University as the Deputy Vice Chancellor.

Born on 22 April 1968 in the southern part of Ekiti State, Prof. Aladegbola has an illustrious academic background. He earned a B.Sc. degree in Political Science from the University of Ilorin in 1998, followed by an M.Sc. in Political Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He further pursued his doctoral studies, obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Political Science from the University of Ilorin, with a specialisation in the Political Economy of developing nations, working on policy responses to poverty management and inclusive growth.

Prof. Aladegbola's career in academia spans over two decades, during which he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and administration. He began his journey as a Graduate Assistant at the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, from 2002 to 2005. Subsequently, he served at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, College of Education, Ikere Campus, where he rose through the ranks from Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer I between 2005 and 2014. From 2014 to 2016, he held a position at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He then joined Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, where he progressed from Lecturer I to Senior Lecturer from 2014 to 2020.

In 2020, Prof. Aladegbola joined Crawford University, where he has since served in various administrative capacities. He was the Acting Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations from 2020 to 2021 and the Dean of Student Affairs from 2021 to 2023. Prior to his current role, he was a member of the Governing Council.

Prof. Aladegbola's research prowess is reflected in his extensive list of publications in prestigious local and international journals, books, and conference proceedings. He has attended numerous local and international conferences, presenting his scholarly works and engaging with peers in his field.

In his career, Prof. Aladegbola has been the recipient of several accolades and awards, including the Merit Award for Most Dedicated Lecturer from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in 2005, the Lecturer of the Year Award from the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS) in 2021, and the Academia Award as Academician per Excellence by the Freelance & Independent Broadcaster Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) in 2008. In 2022, he received the Academia Award from Gold Media Concepts International, among several others.

Prof. Aladegbola is an active member of professional organisations, including the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA), Social Science Research Council, the Pan African Solidarity Education Network (PASEN), and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). He became an African fellow of the American Political Science Association (APSA) in 2014 and was awarded the APSA Centennial Grant in 2017, further recognising his academic excellence. He has also won four scholarship awards to attend international conferences of the African Institute of South Africa (AISA) and HSRC between 2013 and 2015.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Aladegbola has extensive leadership experience in community youth development activities and has been featured extensively on radio and television as a public analyst, providing insights on local and national issues.

Prof. Aladegbola is happily married with three children, and his hobbies include reading, writing, travelling, and political analysis.

OGUNSAKIN, Caroline Adunni

Registrar, Crawford University

Pursuant to Statute 4, Section 2 of the Crawford University Law (2004), and Section 9.5 of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Code of Corporate Governance for Private Universities in Nigeria (2019), the Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University, except in financial matters. By virtue of that office, the Registrar is the Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Convocation, and Congregation, as well as other statutory committees of the University. As the Chief Administrative Officer, the Registrar is responsible for the custody of the records and the common seal of the University. He is also responsible for the interpretation of regulations, statutes, and laws, and for advising the Vice Chancellor and other statutory organs in line with the statutes.

Mrs. Caroline Adunni Ogunsakin is a seasoned university administrator with over 25 years of robust experience in higher education management. She is the newly appointed Registrar of Crawford University, Faith City, Igbesa, Ogun State.

Born on March 17, 1971, and hailing from Ekiti State, Mrs. Ogunsakin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in History (Second Class Upper Division) from the former Ondo State University, now Ekiti State University, awarded in 1992. She further obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 2003 from the same university.

Her professional journey is marked by a steady and distinguished progression through various critical roles in university administration. She began her career in 1995 as an Administrative Officer at Ekiti State University and rose through the ranks to become the substantive Registrar of the Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, a position she held from 2020 until her appointment at Crawford University.

Mrs. Ogunsakin has served in nearly every major department of the university system, including the Directorate of Academic Affairs, Admissions Office, Postgraduate College, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Establishment Division, and the Faculty of the Social Sciences. Her assignments have consistently involved high-level coordination, policy implementation, committee secretariat duties, staff supervision, admissions processing, and Senate-related responsibilities.

She is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including: The Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA); The Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN); A Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA); The Association of University Administrators, United Kingdom (AUA).

A woman of vision and strong administrative insight, Mrs. Ogunsakin is deeply committed to institutional excellence. Her stated vision for Crawford University includes transforming the Registry into a hub of innovation, transparency, and service excellence, underpinned by digital transformation and staff development.

Outside her professional commitments, she is actively involved in community and religious engagements as a member of the Apostolic Faith Church and Ado Progressive Union. She is married and blessed with twin children.

Mrs. Ogunsakin brings to Crawford University a wealth of experience, administrative depth, and a proven track record of leadership that will undoubtedly enhance the university's operational efficiency and academic integrity.

Gabriel Bamidele Ngburuka

HND Accountancy, BSc Acctg., MBA (Finance), AAT, ACA  

Acting Bursar, Crawford University

Mr. Gabriel Bamidele Ngburuka is a seasoned finance and management accountant with a strong record of service and dedication to Crawford University since 2006. With nearly two decades of experience in university finance, budgeting, payroll administration, auditing, and expenditure control, he now serves as the Acting Bursar of Crawford University, Faith City, Igbesa, Ogun State.

Mr. Ngburuka holds a B.Sc. in Accounting (First Class) from Crawford University, an MBA in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and an HND in Accountancy from Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. He is a chartered accountant with membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate Accounting Technician (AAT).

His career progression reflects excellence and steady growth. At Crawford University, he has served as Chief Accountant and Head of Budget, Expenditure Control and Final Account Section, where he coordinated the preparation of annual budgets, maintained ledger accounts, prepared financial statements, supervised external audits, and ensured robust expenditure control.

He also previously headed the Payroll and Finance Unit, managing staff salaries, statutory deductions, investments, and cash flow reports. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Audit Supervisor at S.O. Ajeigbe & Co (Chartered Accountants), where he led audit teams, verified financial records, and ensured compliance with internal controls.

A highly trained professional, Mr. Ngburuka has earned certifications in IFRS, financial modeling, digital appreciation for tertiary institutions, financial statement analysis, expenditure control in higher education, and modern Excel automation. His expertise is complemented by leadership roles in several university committees, including Budget Preparation, Internally Generated Revenue, Procurement, Staff Disciplinary, Quality Assurance, and Strategic Planning.

Mr. Ngburuka’s service has been recognized with several awards, including the Best Senior Staff (Non-Teaching) Award (2019) and the Crawford University Cooperative Society Meritorious Award (2020).

Beyond his professional duties, he is actively involved in faith-based service as Treasurer of the Apostolic Faith Church (Youth Directorate, Faith City) and has received meritorious service awards for his commitment.

Married with children, Mr. Ngburuka is a man of integrity, diligence, and excellence.

With his wealth of experience in financial management, transparency, and accountability, Mr. Gabriel Bamidele Ngburuka is well-positioned to strengthen the bursary’s operations and contribute to the continued growth and stability of Crawford University.

Dr. Humphreh Oguchinalu Nwaogu

Acting Librarian, Crawford University

Dr. Humphrey Oguchinalu Nwaogu is a seasoned information professional, scholar, and administrator who has dedicated nearly two decades of service to Crawford University. He currently serves as the Acting University Librarian, where he continues to strengthen the University Library as a hub of knowledge, research, and innovation.

Born in Kaduna to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Theodor Anunobi Nwaogu from Umudum Amafor Imerienwe, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, Dr. Nwaogu began his academic journey at Pioneer Primary School, Amafor Imerienwe, and later attended Obube Secondary School, Ulakwo in Owerri North. He earned his Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLS) from Abia State University, Uturu, in 1994, followed by a Master’s degree in Library, Archival and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Ibadan in 2011, and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

A Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) since 2013, Dr. Nwaogu is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FCAI), Abuja, and an active member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Ogun State Chapter. He is also a member of the Institute of Leadership Manpower and Management Development of Nigeria (ILMMD).

He joined Crawford University in 2007 as an Assistant Librarian and, through dedication and excellence, rose to the position of Principal Librarian. Over the years, he has played key roles in supervising critical sections of the library — including Circulation, Reference, and E-Library Units — and has acted as Head of the University Library. His 17 years of service at Crawford University are complemented by over 15 years of prior administrative experience across various organizations.

Dr. Nwaogu is recognized as an accessible, unassuming, and supportive academic leader, always willing to assist staff and students. He has presented papers at professional conferences, particularly at the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) Annual General Meetings, and has published scholarly works, including book chapters and journal articles, in reputable outlets.

Hardworking and visionary, he has contributed immensely to the development of Crawford University Library, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of academic life within the University.
